The Black Pledge Collective presents The Year of Black Performance - a celebration and affirmation of Black art in live performance. The initiative, which launches in the final year of the United Nations Decade of People of African Descent, invites the public to celebrate, support and recognize the vital contribution and work of Black artists to live performance across Canada. We aim to amplify and highlight Black performances happening all over Canada on blackperformance.ca, an online directory, and a comprehensive marketing and outreach campaign. The Year of Black Performance is supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Toronto Arts Council.
